Techsuture PGA is a synthetic absorbable braided polyglycolic acid suture developed for reliable soft-tissue approximation where temporary wound support is required. The violet color improves intraoperative visibility, while the multifilament braided structure ensures smooth handling, secure knot placement, and controlled passage through tissue.
This configuration features a USP 5-0, 22 in (55 cm) strand paired with a 15 mm 3/8 circle Black Regular reverse-cutting needle. Compared to larger sizes, the 5-0 profile supports finer, more delicate closure with reduced tissue impact, making it well-suited for procedures where precision and cosmetic outcomes are important.
Choose the suture size based on the level of tissue support, handling preference, and closure delicacy required during the procedure.
5-0 – provides finer closure and more delicate tissue approximation, especially useful when a smaller needle-and-thread profile is preferred.
4-0 – offers more support and slightly broader tissue engagement, making it a practical choice when stronger temporary approximation is preferred.
