At 20 cm, this is the longest active Mayo–Hegar needle holder in the current PDG family. It preserves the traditional straight-jaw, finger-ring and ratchet design, but gives the clinician a greater distance between the working end and the hand. That extra reach can be useful when the suturing site is less accessible or a longer instrument is simply preferred.
Tungsten carbide gripping surfaces provide durable contact as the needle is grasped and repositioned. Ring handles and a locking ratchet preserve the familiar Mayo–Hegar handling technique in this longer instrument.
Choose this model for reach first. Its 20 cm overall length allows a different hand position while retaining the same familiar locking ring-handle technique as shorter Mayo–Hegar holders. The carbide working surfaces add durability where the needle contacts the jaws.
